Ovar, Portugal - Basketball
Portugal has become one of the most visited countries in Europe. Our team will have the privilege of serving in the northern part of the country in the amazing city of Ovar; located a few miles from the Praia do Furadouro beach. We will have the opportunity to visit Aviero known as the Venice of Portugal, as well as Porto - which many consider to be the most beautiful city in the country. We will partner with an IMB missionary and the pastor of a local church to use a basketball camp to help build the youth program and introduce the players to the church. We will host an up-tempo, heavy drills camp with scrimmage games to round out each day. At the halfway point of the day we will gather everyone together, and one of the coaches will share their testimony. We are looking for coaches and players to help us lead this sports mission opportunity.Ground Cost Includes

What to Expect
This is our fifth time to host this basketball camp in Ovar. Our team will stay at the Aqua Hotel where each morning we will have breakfast, bible study and prayer time. The gym is a short ten minute walk through the park and narrow streets showcasing very unique homes. This has always been a fun team building time with lots of great conversations. The camp goes from 9 am - 1 pm, Monday through Friday. On average we have 25 - 30 boys and girls ages 10 - 18 attend. The past two years the city has sent over 150 kids to spend a couple hours with our group. We set up a rotation for the kids to enjoy sports activities outside. We are excited to be able to share God’s word with them during their short stay at the camp. And by the way - the food in Portugal is INCREDIBLE!Gallery
